Dear Friends,
Back in the Spring, I wrote about some changes to our approach to studying the Catechism here at Concordia. Since then, I’ve worked out some details on what we’ll begin this Fall. I’ve been meeting with families to make sure everyone’s up to speed, and I’m excited to get the ball rolling!
Here’s an overview of the plan that describes to parents what we’re doing and what’s expected of them:
And here are some files that contain the checklist for learning the Catechism, the Bible Reading Plan, and the Facts to Know for the first time through.
Part of this new effort includes a monthly Family Night. On the 2nd Wednesday of the month, from 5:30-7:30, we’ll gather at church for dinner, to review what we’ve learned, to spend time learning the Bible and Catechism in greater depth, and to end with worship. Our first Family Night is on Wednesday, September 8 (5:30-7:30).
I’m hopeful that all families with kids can join us, but anyone else is welcome! If you’d like to attend but aren’t bringing any kids, just let me know so I can plan enough food for all!
God bless and keep you,
Pr. Buchs
